Surprised anyone is still willing to partner with predatorblox, considering the extreme heat the platform has been under lately.

Then again, corpos only see money.

A platform that's a haven for predators (Roblox in this case) somehow getting new game mode and high profile IP (My Hero Academia) involved with it? Where's a 'Hakai' or 'Nomu' when you need them?

These kind of stuff gets negotiated years in advance.

I quite frankly don't know what the drama with Roblox is... to be sincere, I don't even know what Roblox actually is, but this collaboration most probably was signed 2 or more years ago.

Sadly, and I hate to say it, the moderation that's often supposed to keep the predators away on various platforms (Roblox in this case) are often the ones that engage in that behavior. A sick sort of 'Catch-22' or 'Hanlon's Razor'. The few that try to do good on those platforms are often booted, ill equipped, or have limited legal means to do so compared to the higher brass.

It's not uncommon for contracts to have morality clauses, specifically to shield companies from associating with execrable behavior like what roblox lets happen constantly on it's platform.

Its pretty easy to guess. Most children's social games like club penguin, neopets have various moderation features to prevent predators from exploiting children. Adult players then piss and moan because they, admittedly earnestly don't want to be censored from saying "fudge" on a children's game. Then they simultaneously criticise predators in childrens games while also criticising children's games from implementing moderation features to prevent predators from exploiting children... I guess I'm repeating myself.

Maybe instead of misrepresenting the situation and making it seem like it's just "mean adults" wanting to swear in children's games, you should do some research and you'd find out Roblox has been denounced in several countries and by several media outlets for it's failure to do anything about it's rampant pedophile problems, preferring to instead bury it's head in the sand and threaten to sue anyone that brings attention to the subject. You'd probably should also know that Roblox is now the target of a federal lawsuit in America for that exact reason.

They will then go on to moan about uk age verification laws, despite the fact most child-on-child rape (of course little girls will broadly be the victims) are committed by other children who consumed porn underaged.

First you'll provide a peer reviewed, statistically significant source about that claim on rapes (why are you trying to deflect the blame away from pedophiles?), then you'll inform yourself on what is actually wrong with the UK law, like for example forcing it's citizens to hand over sensitive personal information to private corporations that are not equipped (or even willing) to keep them safe.

If no one ever used or collaborated with a company or platform or thing that 'has a problem with abuse' then there would be no collaborations ever. It's like saying since Discord has a problem with groomers no company should have an official Discord, or other social media platforms. It's generally the fact such platforms are popular that they have those problems because it's where everyone is which is why they use them to do bad things. Unsurprising to hear the most popular game for kids has people on it trying to prey on them.

Besides, MHA had an Overwatch collab awhile back and Blizzard is now known as the Cosby rooming, breast milk thieving, rapist studio and they were fine with partnering with them.

There's a reason terms like Reddit moderator or Discord moderator are derogatory terms and associated with grooming or abuse. It all comes down to people who have access to minors in the first place due to their position and the power they have in said position. Offline this is seen in roles like community leaders, teachers, and religious figures.

Pretty much. Roblox is massive, even compared to what we would think of as big games. Plus, you've got a platform that hosts user-made stuff and a young audience that either doesn't know or doesn't care if the thing they made infringes on someone else's IP. Making an official thing that could get players is probably far more financially sound than trying to sue Roblox over it.
