Sucks that the PC version is plagued with performance issues.

UE5 seems to be the second coming of UE3.

The Unreal Engine has always been an overhyped SUV that only functions properly after other companies do the work. This is what happens when an industry doesn't do middleware properly.

I would've been willing to take a chance on MGS Delta: Snake Eater, but given the number of technical issues it has, I decided to wait for a sale. Plus, it's Konami, they'd rather be making deji-pachi machines than video games proper.

To be fair when you’re gotten as much mileage out of Metal Gear, CastleVania, & Silent Hill as you can not many other avenues to make moneyzx

Technically Konami's gaming division is still their biggest money-maker, it's just that the majority of them come from titles that are only available in Japan like Momotaro Dentetsu, and eFootball still brings them a lot of money despite its issues, not to mention that Konami owns the rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game and the series itself is still very popular and the tournaments bring a lot of people. The thing is that after the release of Metal Gear Solid V they abanoned AAA game development to concentrate on smaller titles, but it seems something changed in the company, though aside from the next Silent Hill, I think we'll mainly see remakes and compilations of old titles, can't imagine Konami trying to revive some of their IPs or those they accquired from Hudsonsoft, like Bloody Roar.

Me and you, we need to join the ranks of Konami. We got to show 'em that AAA still got the magic juice!

What changed was the world governments locking everyone down and the casino business collapsing, and strong competition in the gatcha GAAS market matching the quality of AAA console games so they can't just churn out cheaply developed games and expect to succeed like they thought.
Unfortunately, they kicked out their golden goose, Hideo Kojima, and turns out a lot of their own talented staff hated Konami and walked out who would rather work under Kojima.
Thankfully, Konami has come back to it's senses, but lacking staff and expertise has to rely on outsourced studios for Silent Hill, and their internal staff is only starting to try returning to AAA development through remakes.
I doubt we'll see any original MGS games for awhile outside of ports, collections and remakes. Silent Hill, on the other hand, is looking good with remakes and original projects.
