The armor designs are neat, but the character designs are kind of generic. I hope the music is as good as the original's.

I think the character designs are fine. They're very obviously angling to get a Hypnosis Mic crowd in addition to the built-in audience. ...Anybody else getting Gundam 00 Season 2 vibes off how blocky the armor designs are?[/i]

Looks great! Even the CG looks solid.

Japanese comments in the trailer video have been rather disparaging of what's been presented, especially regarding:
- The armour designs lack the iconic mon crests of the original cast
- New cast looks too mean and fierce compared to the OG characters
- Designs are trying too hard to appeal to female viewers, did they confuse it with making a shonen anime that so happens to attract female fans?
- Designs look too BL

The original Samurai Troopers was blatantly made to ride the popularity of Saint Seiya, just as Tatsunoko did with Shurato & Sunrise would later also do with Gundam Wing, Reideen the Superior, & even Wild Knights Gulkeeva. The idea that Japanese anime fans are now complaining about the new Samurai Troopers sequel maintaining that concept decades later is just hilarious.

I would like to point out that before it aired on the Cartoon Network, it was originally seen in weekly first-run syndication, and was then seen on the Sci-Fi Channel (now known today as "SyFy").

I find the character designs to be rather basic and uninspired, especially for the two characters in the blue armors. Rather disappointing as Toma and Shin were my two favorites from the original. The CG looks good. I hope the soundtrack will be as good as the original (I still listen to it almost daily). I wonder how the antagonists will look?
