Aww. I was enjoying it so much, too, until the "also, btw, I'm infinitely powerful and can obliterate any obstacles in my way" ending. I guess I'll pop my nose in for episode 2 to see if that was just a one-off thing.

Episode 1

Yep, she's OP, for sure. Decent enough episode, imo. I plan to watch more but I get the sense at some point I'm going to think, "yeah, that was fun, but I'm full" and drop it. Maybe not, though. We'll see.

That was an effective first episode. I enjoy the trope of a game becoming reality (or the game having been based off a different dimension) and the mc seems like he/she will provide plenty of bloody action and funny yet dramatic moments. The animation is also rather good and the setting and big mystery might be interesting.

Episode 2

Still liking this. Lufas's Helper cracks me up, "And this suspicious person is..." I also had to laugh at the "monorail" that was cited, but never actually shown. That's certainly one way to keep production costs down.

The second episode has made me invested in the setting/story due to some solid worldbuilding. That includes several surprises such as humanity losing versus the devils and that Lufas having been killed by the heroes seems to be viewed as a mistake with said heroes even being insulted. It makes me curious as to how Lufas will change the world. Also kudos to the animation, lots of charming details even if the monorail ride was indeed skipped.

I really like the Overlord feel to this. There's a lot of lore and world-building, and the production value was quite good in that orc fight. It'll be interesting to see how Lufus continues to re-build and/or expand her own mythos.

Aries has been (re)added to the party, even if it required a bit of tough petting. It was a good showcase of how he was a weak sheep that could only hide at the start and became a true menace many years later. The fight was pretty well animated, even the mook soldiers looked a bit better than in most other shows. Heroes and humanity wise the situation looks rather bad. Most of the heroes are dead and the remaining few are cursed to be at half power so holding onto the little land they have left is impossible long term.

In the OP there's a shot of the party of heroes and Lufas seems to be included among them. I'm curious what her actual relationship with them was?

Also, if Lufas was a max level player, how did it take a whole party of max level players to defeat her?

Episode four showed a little bit of the friendly bond that once existed between Lufas and some of the heroes. It is still very much the question how real their reality and the past of it is though, at this point it seems likely that Lufas is the only former player of the game (which means that it is unsure how much of the game now is reality). Given the lady at the end it might be that a god is playing some scheme.

Otherwise the episode was another reminder of how much the overall power level of the world has gone down.

I'm happy that it is making a legitimate effort to explain the why of the overall power level having gone down, and that it wasn't a one-sided thing. Sure, humanity may have lost, but the demons took a major beating in the process too.

So this show isn't Shakespeare, but so far its kinda fun and that's good enough to keep me watching. The lady at the end kinda looked a bit like Lufas, but maybe its misdirection?

While I can appreciate some fanservice and it was not badly done I still would have rather had the first half of the episode continue their quest. The making of Tanaka and the joke surrounding it was worthwhile but the hotspring bit felt like a waste giving how much is going on story wise. The second half or so showed that the current day adventurers are far too weak to reach and take the weapon cache. That is not even mentioning badly formed parties. Libra herself seems to have seen better days.

I will treasure forever the only bath scene I can recall ever seeing where the female participants didn't compare breast sizes and/or grope/assault each other. Seriously, what a breath of fresh air, using a hot springs ep to do some actual character development. The frogs were an interesting touch as well. Plus some acknowledgment of Aries' gender in a couple of ways during the ep.

I wish they'd made it a little clearer how Lufas felt about his flashback though. Was he ashamed of his past voyeurism, realizing he'd be on the receiving end of that now, or was he just dismayed to realize he no longer got aroused by it? Since they followed that up with the brawny adventurers coming along to "protect the weak little ladies" even after they saw how not weak they were, it made me wonder even more what the writers wanted to say there.

I think Tanaka is a Tardis or something. There's no way all that furniture and plumbing fit inside the small RV we see from the outside.

It's my understanding that they were OOC friends and once they'd all leveled up to the max and had gone as far with the game as was possible, decided to just end their game in a blaze of glory for the ages, staging an epic battle between Lufas and the Heroes, with Lufas throwing the match in the end to let the Heroes win. While this turned out to be a mistake for the game world, they couldn't know that at the time and just wanted to put on a good show for the masses of other players to marvel at. Having it take the whole party to defeat her was probably partly a concession to her player so it didn't look like she went down without a fight, and the Heroes didn't look like they were piling on an opponent a couple of them could've taken.

I honestly can't tell if there being no groping/assault and comparing sizes makes it good fanservice or if the majority of similar scenes in other shows are just repetitive garbage. The scene did succeed in making you think about how a sudden gender change would be a difficult thing to cope with.
