They've been having big sales on most of their titles the past week or two and the sales don't seem to be letting up. I've seen rumors GKids is shutting down their physical media distribution entirely and other rumors they're still going to release physical media but they're just shutting down their online store and will release through other stores. As far as I know Shout hasn't made an official announcement yet besides announcing they're shutting down their Physical Forever Membership Club Program. Most discussion about this I've mainly seen from the toku and Power Rangers fandom but I've barely seen much talk about this from anime fandom but this seem like this would be important for anime fans too especially with Shout releasing GKids, modern Digimon movies, and other anime titles. So what's going on with them?

I went to check their online shop, and I know before, it was just their regular shop, but now it's being done by Gruv? I've never heard of Gruv before. Perhaps they were just trying to clear out inventory before their Gruv move?

Shout is trying to "reduce some clutter" so to speak. Supposedly, they're trying to clear some inventory and, yes, are moving the majority of their online distribution to GRUV, with the Shout site being reserved, mainly, for catalogue titles, going forward.
For those that don't know who GRUV is, the site is owned by Universal and is the official storefront for SDS (Studio Distribution Services), who are a joint venture group composed of Universal and Warner Bros., and all of their physical media distribution goes through SDS. Coincidentally, a large majority of Shout titles are also Universal and WB properties (with some MGM mixed in).
It's not the end of Shout. They're just shifting things around, but also happened to have run a sale to make space for said shift.
