Very Interesting! I remember watching the live-action for this series that actually starred Kame as the main lead.

What on earth is up with the massive wine glass in the promo image? I know they make slightly larger than "average" size wine glasses for red wine, and even slightly larger still specifically for tasting, but the one he's holding based on the relative size of his hand is comically huge.

Nice. But I am still bitter about the cancelled Vertical print releases...

It's an overhead perspective shot. the foreshortening is the intended effect where his raised arm and the glas are closer to your POV..

Feels kind of redundant when the ongoing LA adaptation won an Emmy

Then again, Apple TV, despite the money it spends on shows, is losing over $1 billion a year on streaming, and hasn't had a true mainstream hit outside of Ted Lasso, although they really want Pluribus to be one.

This is true, but I don’t think the artist pulled it off - it looks like he’s about to turn a comically large glass over and wear it on his head like one of those old diving suits.

Severance, Slow Horses.

Honestly, if they’re willing to burn a pile of their vast profits elsewhere making really good shows, I’m not gonna complain.

But the LA changed many things from the manga.

This is surprising.

Considering how long the series has been out, I assume the project has been in the works for awhile.

Wow, this is a surprise! I guess this series has had a resurgence due to the TV show. I really enjoy Tadashi Agi's (Shin Kibayashi) stuff.

Luckily for us, Kodansha is bringing it back into print. Vol. 1 of the new edition (identical in trim and length to the Vertical edition, from what I can tell) just came out this past week. Hopefully they make it all the way through this time, and also give us Mariage in print afterwards.

OOooooo! Thanks! I'll be picking these up after they reach the next volume after I ended on. Though, I also picked up that time skipped New World volume, and I have no idea where that one numerically fits in...

Just picked it up, very excited to read but I'm disappointed that it has a permanent "Stream on Apple TV+" badge on the cover. Oh well

Happy to share the good news, and same here (on both accounts). I did pick up the whole series digitally via a Humble Bundle, but much prefer print, especially for the odd two-page spread.
