This is the same thing that the first season went through before it stopped in the middle of the B Rank Wars… then got 12 more episodes years later talking about a new invasion and never fully wrapped up the Rank wars…
So I have to ask… just how far is this going to go or we just going to see a repeat of the first version of the anime before stopping? I hope they can continue it past where the first anime stops.

I find this quite interesting, but would this mean that the other two series would be retroactively sequels to this remake, or would they adapt those story arcs again in the future? I assume the former, considering that "powered up World Trigger 1st Season" would only refer to the first series. I have never watched the series, although I have heard of it and am interested in watching it sometime. I think now is a good time with this remake. I also wonder if the 73-episode series was really that bad, to the point that they couldn't give it a "Dragon Ball Kai treatment", and instead decided to start over from scratch.

Is the manga drawing near to its conclusion? If so, this "Brotherhood" treatment would be more justified. Anyway, I'm going to watch this new adaptation too since I like the story/characters! ^^

I enjoyed the first season of World Trigger but the difference of adaptation between the 1st and 2nd/3rd seasons makes me believe this remake isn't a bad idea. I just hope it'll open the gate for a 4th season.

I mean it should be obvious to anyone with common sense that they're only readapting the first S1 considering the fact both S2 and S3 already have great direction, pacing and animation.

What makes you so sure? This could be a Hunter X Hunter situation. Also if they improve the animation I definitely would like to see the whole thing done. Season 2 and Season 3 still had some janky animation.

This sounds good in theory but then you realize there is no [expletive] way they are approving a 100 episode anime in 2025 and this is gonna feel super super rushed compared to the original season 1/2 when they try to do all 3 of those arcs in 36 episodes or something insane.

“some janky animation”
That’s literally everything, and I’m sure this reboot will have that too. We need to have reasonable expectations, people!

It's not, it's just the next arc they can adapt is only halfway done, and likely will take a few years longer to wrap-up. Re-adapting the beginning of the series is likely a compromise while they're waiting for more manga material, so they can adapt the next arc once it has a more satisfying conclusion.

36 episodes honestly would be about perfect for around 120 World Trigger chapters (from back when it was still a weekly manga). That'd still be a solid half of the 73 episode count of the original anime, which padded itself out with long recaps, dragged out pacing, and an anime-original arc that's ignored by the anime itself. Heck, I feel like they're implying that's all they're doing anyway, not touching the 76 chapters that were covered in the 26 episodes of seasons 2 and 3.

Yeah... Every anime production has had at least a little jank, and the ones that only had a little were the ones blessed with enough time and resources to fix things up before it got released to the public (or had enough talented staff in all departments that they didn't need to do much of that, and even then...). Like, I'd be super happy with the quality of the more recent World Trigger anime seasons, really.

No, not even close. In all honestly, I would describe where WT is rn as getting close to gathering the key players of the actual story. WT is such a rich world with a huge cast of characters that it could go on as long as One Piece without putting in much effort.

I'm confused by the confusion in this comment section. The article says what they are adapting with this reboot. There is no indication or statement about them redoing the content from seasons 2 or 3 after so this isn't anything like Fullmetal Alchemist or HunterxHunter. They're just redoing the stuff that had filler and animation that isn't at the quality of the later seasons.
This would allow more material to come out in the manga to allow them to adapt the final test fully without needing to stop after the first part of the test, and at the same time give the anime something instead of nothing for another four years.

I'm so happy about this!!!! I've been wanting it for a while!!!! This series is so good, and season 1 didn't do it justice!!!!! It made it kinda hard to recommend to people.

I've been interested in checking out World Trigger for a while now, especially considering it's one of the last remaining series' to consistently have its dubbing done in Canada. I hope this rebooted first season gets that core cast/staff back for a dub, and that Toei expands distribution on the dub of Seasons 2 and 3. (Please just get some blu-rays out there at least...)
Once I know all that is lined up, I'll be inclined to give the series a proper watch-through.

I think this was done basically to remove that filler arc they had to do.
But seriously I hope this runs on Toonami.

I´m interesting in the "World Trigger Anime Reboot Project". Because of the fact, that I stopped watching the original-series after 2-3 episodes. Not because it was bad, but lack of time to watch it seriously.
Anyway, I read here and there, that "World Trigger" is popular in Japan, but here...........especially in Germany.......nobody talks about it. Because there isn´t a official release of the manga or anime (excepted Simulcast-Release).
Wouldn´t be better, if the anime-reboot will be released on a bigger plattform like netflix or prime video? Especially, if they dubbing the series for more people to watch it.
