Good news, and I'm hopeful that Kore-eda does his adaptation justice—this is really his type of story.
Still, I'm hoping even more that we actually get some news about a physical release of the anime adaptation. GKIDS has had Look Back for almost a couple years now, but no announcement of a Blu-ray. Is the hold up due to some rights with Amazon streaming it?

Not sure. I know the Japanese blu-ray for the anime came out in January, so maybe they're sorting through some things before putting it out on BR here? Though this isn't the first time a GKids license took a while to come out on home video. Remember what happened with Inu-Oh?
