I liked "The Klutz and the Skirt" chapter headings more than I liked the title of the anime that they settled on.
Anyhow, I liked this pretty well. Why I liked this and didn't connect with Mistress Kanan is Devilishly easy would take more time and thought than I'm willing to give it. But basically, the appearances can be deceiving theme worked for me. The chemistry between the earnest class monitor and the nice girl in Gyaru's clothing didn't seem forced, and the friends on both sides were pretty funny. Cool. |

The chemistry between the characters is also one of the things that sold the show for me (a surprising amount of romantic progress for one episode). Everyone just having a fun time and being extra zany about it helps too. That goes particularly for the two male characters with them being highly amusing idiots.

The basic premise is not that interesting for me, but it is roughly at a right level of stupid to be fine. Feels a bit like we are back at the Honnouji Academy again, not a bad thing at all.

It is simple but it is charming and stupid enough to keep me watching. The sassy library prince is a fun addition and the missing lunch segment was over the top fun with a wholesome conclusion. |

I laughed when the mischievous friend pretended to be a criminal mastermind just to keep Togo's delusion going, and I enjoyed the appearance of the mom who was the complete opposite of a gyaru. The librarian seemed like a good addition too. I'm actually hoping there will be more student council members. Let's see...there should at least be a secretary, right? Maybe a treasurer...and a president....
I think the voice actor playing Togo is doing a great job, just like I think the voice actress doing Aki's voice over in Scum of the Brave is awesome. They both manage to make over the top, hyper characters funny and kind of endearing instead of annoying. Digging this. It's good-natured and light-hearted and energetic and has funny moments that catch me off guard. |

I'll give it another episode, but I think there are too many similar shows this season with significantly more intelligent leads

Among the new anime there is indeed an avalanche of romcoms this summer, and it doesn't look like any of them are easy drops like You Can't Be in a RomCom With Your Childhood Friends was last season. I dropped I Want to End This Love Game after one episode and I usually would have given it the three episode leeway.
And that's not even considering that the majority of the fantasy anime also seem to be leaning in the romantic comedy direction. I've dropped more of those. I peeked ahead to Summer 2026 just to see if this trend was going to continue, and it looks like next season is loaded with the fantasy adventure genre. |

So far most of the characters have been rather likeable and quirky/fun, surprisingly so. Nadeshiko the student council president beats them all with ease though. She is such a fun character with tons of charisma and being able to use everyone as she pleases. Her relationship with the vice president is an interesting one. |

I agree that the president is a fun character. She feels like a Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines character, which from me is high praise.
So far, the show has been driven by introducing a new character from the student council each week. Unless there's a treasurer lurking around the corner, I'll be interested to see where the show goes next. 3 episodes in and I've enjoyed every week. |

NGL, the student council president and vice-president have kept me from dropping this show.
...and they even named her Yamato Nadeshiko
The treasurer was the girl talking at the start of the student council meeting at the start of the second half of the episode. |

A comedy has to be interesting and well crafted for me to enjoy these days and though I expected to dislike this show, it is really charming with interesting characters and well-executed situation comedy. Subverts expectations in the best ways (unlike Ribdiculous Reincarnation). Color me surprised that I've found another show this season I like as they are few for some reason...

How surprising, an entire episode outside of the school. It was a great episode though thanks to Poem her family being very lively. The little sister seems to have Poem's back while the mother might be sharing a bit too much information. The father being a former rapper and commenting on Sakuradaimon laying down some beats was fun. |

I think Lyric-san might be the first relatively normal person to appear on this show. I wonder if her family all think she's the odd one.
Edited twice after I tried to put a picture of that Munsters show where a normal looking daughter was in the middle of the Munster family. Anyhow, I also thought it was another fun episode. I have to agree with little sis that Poem-san has her work cut out for if she really has come to terms with her crush on Klutz-san. At least he's not as annoying as most dense Japanese male rom-com protagonists. His reasons and mindset are embedded in his character from scene 1, and he's neither a cowardly pervert or someone who's afraid to admit what they're feeling if he ever realizes what he's feeling. I liked the rap battle too. |

To be honest, it's Poem and Togo dragging this show down for me. I just don't find their particular brand of stupidity all that entertaining. It's the characters around them that have kept me in it so far - last week it was the student council president and vice president, this week it's Lyric and Mama (I'm not sold on Rhyme yet).
