I just went the toonami schedule and got the next two weeks of shows on Saturday nights
(SATURDAY: 04/21/2007
7:00PM Dragon Ball Z episode 127 Borrowed Powers
7:30PM Yu-Gi-Oh! GX episode 303 Jewel of a Duel (Part 2)
8:00PM Naruto episode 83 Jiraiya: Naruto's Potential Disaster
8:30PM Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo episode 56 The Ultimate SF Battle! Supreme Fisticuffs or Certain Free-for-All!
9:00PM Naruto episode 84 Roar, Chidori! Brother vs. Brother!
9:30PM One Piece episode 188 Bad Girls
10:00PM MÄR: Märchen Awakens Romance episode 07 Awaken! Meet the Other Ed!
10:30PM The Prince of Tennis episode 07 The Two Ryomas
SATURDAY: 04/28/2007
7:00PM Cartoon Network Movie -- Spider-Man
9:30PM One Piece episode 189 Zolo vs. Mr. One
10:00PM MÄR: Märchen Awakens Romance episode 08 Phantom, the Undead Knight!
10:30PM The Prince of Tennis episode 08 The Split Step
This here is fine and all, but the thing that sucks is that their showing spiderman instead of actual anime. I especially want to see more naruto. If it wasn't the old one then I wouldn't complain so much, but this is the first spider man movie. It came out around what 5 years ago or something. It's an ok movie but I have seen that movie so many time it's not even funny. I was just telling everyone what I think and it would be nice to know how everyone else feels on the subject

Well, I'm maybe a little bit disappointed that Naruto's not going to be on, but hey, I love both the Spiderman movies, so I'm not complaining at all! They'll probably show the second one the Saturday after that as well as a tribute to the third one coming out that same weekend, so it could be 2 weeks without Naruto. But once again, I really don't mind as I love both Spiderman movies.
Well, at least they're still showing MAR and Prince of Tennis, so I'm good.

Personally, I wish Cartoon Network would stop showing live-action anything, but it looks like that won't happen anytime soon.
Do they really get ratings worth the price they paid for the rights to air Spiderman anyway? I mean, yeah it's a good movie and all, but does anyone actually watch it on TV? It's been on DVD for a while now.
They could have at least shown the second one. Movie 3's coming soon.

The Spiderman movies are pretty so-so to me when you compare its to the comics and cartoons. So,I think its do not deserve to bump off anime shows like Yugioh GX or Naruto. It seem they are going to do this once in a while to give in to the Marvel crowd.

I've always had a problem with them showing live-action stuff. I mean, this is the CARTOON Network, so we need to show more CARTOONS and less live action. I just like Spiderman enough that it's alright with me in this case, even if I still am a little annoyed by them showing a live-action movie in the first place.

I agree. The 2nd one was far better than the first one in my opinion, and yeah, it really would make more sense for them just to simply show that one instead of both if they want to show it in honor of the 3rd one coming out.

Well, you've gotta be fair to everyone, don't you? I mean, there are a lot of people who watch Toonami who are marvel fans (me included). But I do agree that the cartoons and comics were better than the movies. Except I think that's pretty much true with anything that gets made into a move, so considering that, I think they did a pretty good job. What I think they should do is at least put the cartoon series on there or something if they want to honor the 3rd movie release. That would kick a**!

I just now checked even farther into the schedule
SATURDAY: 05/05/2007
7:00PM Dragon Ball Z episode 128 His Name is Cell
7:30PM Yu-Gi-Oh! GX episode 304 Hanging with Axel (Part 1)
8:00PM Naruto episode 84 Roar, Chidori! Brother vs. Brother!
8:30PM Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo episode 57 The Water Slide That's Bonafide to Leave You Terrified!
9:00PM Naruto episode 85 Hate Among the Uchihas: The Last of the Clan!
9:30PM One Piece episode 189 Zolo vs. Mr. One
10:00PM MÄR: Märchen Awakens Romance episode 09 The Training Gate - Merilo and Bumoru
10:30PM The Prince of Tennis episode 09 The Hard Day
from the looks of it they won't even be showing Spiderman 2 so I don't think that it's all about honoring the Spiderman 3 movie coming out. I'm not complaining though that means Naruto will be on the following weekend after Spiderman.

This is good for me. I haven't seen the first Spiderman movie in fifty forevers, and I happened to prefer it to the second. It's not like they won't be showing the episodes next week. Personally this little incident is making me rather happy. I may actually watch Toonami willingly for once.

That sucks there is no Naruto next saturday but atleast they are showing One Piece. I find it wierd though that next saturday there isn't an hour of Naruto since Toonami usually makes up for every episode they miss.

While I'd rather they didn't show Spiderman at all, I'm glad it is the first movie. Seems like you can turn the TV on at any time now and catch SM2.

Spiderman was put in there to hype the new movie and for ratings. CN is starting to go to extreme levels for ratings like showing live-action movies instead of showing cartoon movies.
They are going down the Nickoleon road too much.

Well, on the Cartoon Network Schedule page, it has Spiderman, with Naruto, One Piece and Mar following it. So they might have dropped Prince of Tennis for the week instead. *shrugs*

Even though I have both Spiderman movies on DVD, and i would have to sit through all those commericals, I would rather watch Spiderman then Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo. It does suck that Naruto wont be on, well its more of a shock because it seems that Toonmai thinks Naruto is God or something. If they arent playing any episodes you can always wait and see the commericals for " the next all new episode." Also how the old Tom was saying that Naruto would win in a battle between him and "Jake Long" and how he's the "real deal," and not a pretender.

I don't think it's such a big hassle. I don't think we even have toonami anymore here in Australia. The only anime around is Naruto, on sometime during the weekday evening, MAR, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Gundam SEED. Ghost in the Shell is the only one I like out of these. Naruto is alright post ep. 25, but I've turned on the tv about twenty times, and all they ever show in the Land of Waves arc. That's ALL they show!
Samurai X shows during a double slot on the Sci-fi channel sometime in the weekday afternoon, but I'm not a fan of that show either. By chance, one fateful November Morning, I caught the end of an episode of Cowboy Bebop on SBS. sadly, I've never been able to find it again.
*Later inspection reveals that Dragonball /Z is also on, but I don't really like those either. Sometimes though I like to watch DB, I find it funny if I'm in the right mood, but I'm rarely in that mood.

Ah, good then. Although I would like to not have Prince of Tennis dropped either. But hey, at least they're showing Naruto. Can't always have everything you want, right?
