I just watched Jigoku Shoujo and found it to be entertaining.
What I'm woundering is: dose Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori have basicly the same events and story line as the 1st one, or is it completly different? Dose Emma Ai still ferry someone new to Hell in every episode with the anime ending in the same way? Hmm, trying to figure out how to word this.... Is it just a repeate of everything that was in the orignal just with it heppening to different people? Please don't put in big plot spoilers incase i do decide to pick this show up. |

I can't speak about the entire Futakomori run, I stopped watching the fansubs when I learned that the first season had been licensed, but there is a lot of new information in the new season. While Ai continues her duties as the Hell Girl, the stories are a bit darker in this season. Also, information about Ai's servants is revealed as you go along, giving their origins. Also, there are still times when Ai doesn't ferry someone's soul to hell and those stories can be very interesting.
In addition, a new character, a child called Kikuri, appears and while at first she seems unimportant, she clearly has some agenda of her own. I think if you enjoyed the first season, you should enjoy this one equally or more. (At least, this was my experience.) Also, my comment about not watching the fansubs after the first season was licensed isn't an attempt to guilt you out of watching. It was just my personal choice. (Although I do hope you will support Funimation's release of the first series of Hell Girl.) |
