I wanted to know if this was a new series all together or if it is a prequel or something. Anybody know anything?

It was a manga that was some sort of alternate retelling of the TV show. I haven't read it, but I flipped through it at the bookstore. All of the character designs were wierd (they killed Spike's 'fro!!).

After searching for that in the google search engine I find something that Tokyopop commented on it: http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?page=product&productid=1620 From that site it says its the alternative telling of the TV show, I wonder how different it is....

I haven't read it either, but Also understand that it is like an 'Alternate Universe' version of Bebop.

I have both volumes and i dont really like it. The art just doesn't make it look like Cowboy Bebop, and they change too much. For one thing, they make Ed a boy who constanly wears a see-through shirt... Yeah, just wrong. Also, the storyline to me just seemed dull. --_--

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading somewhere that originally ED was suppose to be a boy, but was gender bended sometime in the late stages of production. |

You know, i can see that as being a possibility. But it still just seems so wrong. --_-- <can't stand the see-through shirt> |

i have volume one and wasnt really impressed. Its to different from the original bebop universe to be good. on that matter i feel that there really isnt a good bebop manga.you really cant capture the greatness of bebop in black and white drawings. i feel that without the kickass jazz music and Great dialogue its just not worth getting. id rather watch the series a thousand times over than read this doorstop.

I actually bought volume 2 of this series by mistake because all I saw was "Cowboy Bebob." They did changed Spike's hair, I didn't even recognize him actually. However, at the end of this volume, it said something about this series is cancel so I'm not sure what to make of it. ^^;;

Am I the only one that liked Shooting Star? I thought it was better
It was nice to have a different view than being the exact same thing as the regular CB manga and anime.
I didn't like the Cowboy Bebop regular manga that much. I saw the anime, manga isn't really anything that more special. I don't understand why people think it's so great either >_> But that is just me...odd as usual. |

The artwork really isn't that great, but I still enjoyed volume one. Pretty soon I'll be picking up volume two.
