Been wondering awhile after watching Fruits Basket anime. Is their a possibility of a 2nd season. The series is really good and was well done. The manga is still being release in Japan and it's extremely popular saw Newtype's top ten most bought manga and it was #2 on that list.
So what I'm trying to say since the manga is still being release will their be a 2nd season. I say this because eventhough the anime did have some type of a closure ending some things were left un answered like will Akito change what did he mean he was talking to Ha'ri love one that "you think you can lift the curse" I think Akito says that to Tohru later on. Also some of the Zodiac members didn't show up and I know that they show up in the manga and the relationship between Kyo,Yuki,Tohru seems unanswered also I'm talking about the romance of a possibility ending up with Tohru. Are the people who made the anime waiting for more of the manga to be release to finally do a 2nd season I know that only 12 volumes of the manga has been so far. The series was made in 2002 so I assume they animated the manga up to vol 8 or 9. Does anyone know the anime animated the manga up to which # vol? |

I liked FB very much(its withing top 5 of my anime list) and I hope they will make more anime episodes. Probably when more of manga is released they could be making more episodes. But i hope they dont take too long like Berserk season 2 (comming in 2005/6 I think) because I dont have patience to wait so long.

I believe Fruits Basket is up to volume 13 now. If you read volume 1 of the manga, it covers episodes 1-5 in the anime. So...if we continue with that pace, the manga probably covers the anime up to around volume 6 or 7 (like you said). |

Usually I don't mind when manga adaptations are cut short, but... in all honesty, I would be extremely dissapointed if there was never any kind of continuation for Fruits Basket. They already have enough material to work with for another 26 episodes.

As nice as it would be for us to have a 2nd season of FB, Hellsing, etc. It's not likely to happen. For the most part, anime series don't get any kind of followup. The ones that do are usually OVA only. A second season is rare. It does happen occasionally, but that's why they are called exceptions. Be glad we are getting the manga released here now. Eventually, you will be able to catch up on it and enjoy it for all it's worth.

Thanks for that info. Heh 13 vol have been relase so far if there be a sequel it probably happen in 2-3 years. |
