Well based off the summary, I can only guess the series will turn out one of two ways. The first way is that entire baseball team will be built up with typical shonen characters. The second way is that this series actually turns out well, despite the rough start.
Though based of the description, I am going to say the first way is most likely. To build a baseball team and not even know the rules isn't all that original.
