Amazing trailer. Seto Kaiba as Gridman is going to be amazing. I Hope more shorts become full series. Hoping for Hammerhead among others.

I even found this image a bit strange compared to the trailer. By visual key it seems that it will be something in a more mature tone, like Evangelion. The trailer for Anime Expo gives a sense of Gurren Lagann.

It was pretty much Kanada and Obari animation mixed into one, with some nods to the Brave series and Ultraman (which influenced Evangelion.)
Amemiya has been hugely influenced by their works.

Autumn 2018... So does that mean Promare's not coming until 2019? We know Darling in the Franxx will take up winter and spring, since it's A1, and I highly doubt that it's coming out in the summer.

Not exactly: Imaishi said that this work was already done since the end of Kill Kill, if I'm not mistaken. So it is likely to leave very soon.

That sounds really cool, it would be even better if Obari could do some key-animation.

Does the SSSS in the title mean Tim Curry's going to be in this?

It would be kind of neat if Trigger's take does involve a garage band with the lead singer saving the world.

At the very least this better have a Kylo Ren knockoff as the main bad guy. Laughing

I trust Trigger, but between this and Ultraman 2019, I need something to go “Hey, Voltron! This is how it’s done!”

Same here.
Right now he's involved with Gundam Battlelogue.

Ahem. It's Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad. I didn't notice this until you guys mentioned it. I'm kinda happy the staff made reference to this. (Damn, I thought the show was Canadian.)

Reading the staff list, I was alarmed for a second, but then I noticed that Hasegawa Keiichi actually hadn't been involved in Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul. I immediately sighed with relief.

Still not sure what kind of series the staff is aiming for. But whatever it is, I'm interested in seeing it.

DHX Media, which is a Canadian company, currently owns the rights to the show, so that might be where your confusion came from.

While it sucks that we have to wait almost a year, the Eva Unit 01-style design has me wanting to watch this. Given that a good chunk of seasonal anime are simulcast nowadays, chances are likely a simulcast will be done on this one.
