Wtf, this is so dumb. Why don't they restrict adult content based on your age?

I have adult games on steam with uncensored patch (don't judge me). Will they be taken down?

Because in this society, you aren't allowed to enjoy something other people find offensive. Especially in the #MeToo era.

But really, if you buy game on Steam, you're kinda asking for this. Atleast use GOG if you're going to do digital-only purchases.

Taking away choice is ALWAYS bad. No exceptions.

They do for other types of adult content, i.e. violence. But Steam is an American company, so they're part of a culture that inexplicably considers naked people more offensive than graphic violence. It often gets categorized as "too adult for adults."

...I looked at the Steam store just now and the first thing it showed me was an ad for some horror game; the whole image was just the lower half of a woman's corpse. So apparently that's okay, but consensual sex has to be censored. This country is weird, man.

Screw steam. The devs and publishers should just emove the adult content from the Steam version then offer a free patch to restore it.

This is absolutely disgusting. Hopefully, the games will be advertised as being censored so the customers at least have the choice of making an informed purchase and getting them somewhere else.

The games themselves might be taken down, but if past precedent is any case they'll still be in your library at list, and you'll be able to reinstall them as needed since you already purchased them.

The feminists are finally getting what they want as censorship becomes standard throughout the game industry. It is sad how spineless most tech companies are and how quick they are to betray their own customers. Of course the same argument about fanservice will soon be used to pressure anime streaming companies to censor anime.

Oh, so NOW you decide to moderate the place. Furthermore they're taking the wrong lessons away from the current environment

If this is the case, Steam should get rid of the Witcher game series. It has mature sexual contents of nude women. But there is a problem, the witcher series is one of the most profitable game in Steam and removing them will anger loyal fans and future profits.

Really interested in how this will pan out or what caused it in the first place, considering all these games were approved in the first place and apparently none of the big shots got notices... so the hypocrisy seems big on this one on first glance.

But seriously Valve, and in extension the US, need to get a grip on sexual themes in media. One more argument in favor of GOG, if there weren´t enough already, especially if this goes through.

What I don't get is why do this at all? They have a almost complete monopoly over the PC gaming industry and last time I checked they don't do or use advertising for any money.
The only thing here I see is a loss in money (albeit some) and virtue signalling for a few silly and angry groups that probably don't play games on PC (Work of the devil or I only play phone games. Take your side/pick.).

I don't think this is exactly the time be blaming feminist for these games removal (especially since plenty of them are as outraged about these games threatened removal as commentators here) - if there is anyone you should be laying blame onto it should be NCOSE.
