The Roboco creator either really likes Mega Blaziken, or just looked up which pokémon has the strongest knees.

Also, I can't help but wonder which one Oda would have picked if he wasn't on some level beholden to using the face of the franchise (much like how One Piece is the face of SJ).

I wonder how much input the individual artists had, because I can't imagine TPC going "yeah have them draw Mega Blaziken"

So will this crossover collaboration find it's way into the US and outside of Japan/Asia region too given that both Pokemon and Shonen Jump are well-known if not mainstream outside of Japan/Asia?

This collaboration is just for one of WSJ's double issues where they usually do covers featuring all the currently running series. And Viz usually does put up clean versions of those covers each week, though often only portions of them

If we learned anything from Skypeia it's that lightning attacks don't really bother Luffy, so teaming him with Pikachu kinda makes sense.

Poor Ichi got relegated to a tiny image on the bottom corner, but at least he wasn't completely left off (Sorry Otr).

Heh, seriously. "Pikachu used Thundershock! It's not very effective..."
