they're doing it McCormick?!?! That's the venue you go to when it won't fit anywhere else. I mean yay for almost downtown, rather than the Horizon or somesuch, but it's far enogh from real downtown to make it a hike to get to hotels, food an the like. Also, Chicago is full of other cool things to do, but they aren't a walk from Mc.

Think they shoulda launched someplace smaller, and then grown into Mc if needed... Maybe it's just me.

Totally agreed. McCormick is a pain in the ass to get to, and you've got to take a hike to get to hotels and food.
It's also a really bad idea to hold cons at McCormick because of the cruel iron fist of the Rigger's Union (which require you to use them to move even the smallest of things, and it escalates the price of the con in the long run)

True McCormick place is in the middle of the chicago nowhere. Couple that with being near some of the most violent housing projects in the city, you're as likely to get your throat cut as meet new friends.
