It's still gonna suck. It'll just suck in a new dimension. Laughing

Normally the clusterf--- happens when the movie is released. Maybe they're trying to appease the Murphy's Law gods?

HA! But seriously, no. This film is going to be just another low rent January cast off, that's actually releasing in January now. How fitting.

Ugh, the need to stop messing with the release date already. Well at least there is one. I guess this is what happened after they saw how well Avatar did. Arrow

Love that sea of negativity, people.

I'm going to keep an open mind as always. After all, I thought Avatar was going to be crap, and look what's happening with that.

Mr Cameron is laughing all the way to the bank, which bizarrely is a good thing, as some of that cash can be put towards the Battle Angel/Gunnm movie he has in the pipe. That will no doubt take advantage of his new camera tech and 3D stuff too.

Priest I think will go down well. Its an action romp to fill a void, and if it does okay, we'll get more of it. Hopefully all will enjoy it. Give it a chance, people.

Kinda sick of this 3D stuff though. Totally sucks if you don't have perfect vision, like myself.

Movies are made in 3D to hide lack of a plot.

Wow, if I were looking forward to Priest, I'd be pissed that it is being pushed back for no reason at all. Actually, it's pissing me off anyway.

Great... goddamn 3D again...

If I watch it, I'll find my 2D showing as usual. I looked through the first volume of the comic at my library. Didn't look too interesting...

Alright, some of you forget that we're trying to foster discussion here. Just saying "it's going to suck" doesn't do that, so if such a one-liner is all you have then please don't bother.

Oh, I love that last paragraph! It embodies everything wrong that I've heard about this adaptation. I'd even be fine with an "In Name Only" production, but the whole "humans at war with vampires" has been done. To. Death. Unless they bring something really fresh to the table (and maybe they will?) this looks to be a bad movie in the making.

Meanwhile, I wanna know how this "bridge" manga will work. How long and wide is this bridge going to have to be to span so great a difference?

And when will Min-Woo Hyung finally finish the original?

@Russ869

Dude, flicking through Priest does no good. Its best to obtain the first 2 or 4 volumes, and once you've read it, you'll understand how cool it is doing its own thing. Worth picking up if you like stuff like Hellsing or Claymore.

I also don't think it falls into the niche of vamp and zombies as much. Even though they do feature in the story, the tale is about one man and his battle save others from other nutjobs, and if he's lucky his soul.

The cast seems promising and hopefully its retro futuristic stylings will also work for it too. It also has more potential if they want to make more films about it. And we know hollywood loves sequels.

I just can't see the need to turn the movie into 3D. I could hardly see much difference in Avatar, other than the 3D goggle forcing my sight. The only difference I noticed were small things "moving" toward me, and that alone distracted me from the movie itself. In other words, I consider converting this movie to 3D a waste of money and time.

Done to death, indeed. For the fact that I can hardly remember any movie with "humans at war with vampires", I could guess that all of them sucked; none of them were successful. Funnily, nobody complains when there's a coming romance movie/anime, because, well, that whole "I love you" thing has... been... done... to... death. Regardless, I do like where it's heading, and I hope they get it well done.

I'll take your opinion and throw at it From Dusk Til Dawn.

Then I'll start naming random crap off thet top of my head I didn't like so much but was still successful in terms of money like the Blade series, John Carpenter’s Vampires, Van Helsing, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (wait no, I like this cheese fest), 30 Days of Night, etc, etc. Been there, done that.

Personally I want to see all this vampire junk done away with and have an actually worthy continuation to Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire.

So filming had not begun? Surely they couldn't be talking about converting it to 3D if it had? (Unless they re-filmed completed scenes)

I just stumbled over my memory's tricks. I'm more surprised that I didn't remember any of them. Well, can't say much since from looking at your list all I recognize are Van Helsing, Blade, Buffy, Carpenter’s Vampires, Vampire Slayer and Interview with the Vampire. They could've been successful, financially at least, but I'd hardly call them any sort of outstanding vampire movies. All I meant to say was that no superb vampire movie has been made up to this day. Yes, even though I said all the others sucked, but that wasn't exactly the best phrasing. The general idea of vampires is that of mindless blood sucker beasts, while my idea of vampires is that of a superior and smarter breed(and those who nearly achieved this level left too much aside that it could hardly be called a vampire movie). So, yes, that's exactly why I said all of them sucked.
