Hasbro, DMG Agree to Live-Action Transformers Attraction in China

posted on by Jabulani Blyden

Entertainment news website Deadline reported on Monday that DMG, one of China's leading film companies, has signed a deal with Hasbro to open a live-action Transformers attraction in China.

This will not only be the first live-action Transformers attraction, but also the first major project for DMG Live, a subsidy of DMG Entertainment. S2BN Entertainment, the company that produced Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, The Marvel Experience, and Rock of Ages, will produce the attraction.

According to S2BN Entertainment chairman Michael Cohl, "Transformers Live will be a cross between an action-adventure spectacle, a theme park attraction and a theatrical show. Fans will experience intense action, beautiful visual moments, an emotionally engaging story, lots of humor and rousing music." The attraction will hold 4,500 attendees at a time.

The latest Transformers movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction, was once China's top-grossing film, having earned US$318 million in the box office.
