Elegant Yokai Apartment Life Anime's New Visual Features Naomi Chiaki

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for the television anime of Hinowa Kōzuki's Yōkai Apāto no Yūga na Nichijō (Elegant Yokai Apartment Life) light novel series unveiled a new visual for the anime's second cour on Tuesday. The visual shows Toshihiko Seki's character Naomi Chiaki. The second cour will start in October.

The anime premiered in Japan on Tokyo MX and Yomiuri TV on July 3, and on BS11 on July 4 as part of the Anime no Me programming block. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

The story of Hinowa Kōzuki's original novels centers on Yūshi Inaba, a 16-year-old boy whose parents died three years ago. He moved into his uncle's house, but resolved to move into a dormitory in high school. Those plans were dashed when that dormitory burned down. He eventually finds an apartment with cheap 25,000-yen (about US$220) rent. Yūshi finds out too late that the apartment is home to supernatural creatures such as ghosts, yōkai, and mononoke, and his daily life becomes embroiled in the eccentric apartment.

Mitsuo Hashimoto (Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku, Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits, Initial D: Fifth Stage) is directing the anime at Shinei Animation. Yasunori Yamada (A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia) is in charge of series composition. Tomomi Shimazaki (THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukōgawa e!, Hunter x Hunter key animation) is designing the characters for animation.
