The official website for the Pop Team Epic anime announced on Monday that the series' "Bob Epic Team" ("Bobunemimimmi") segments will be compiled into a standalone Blu-ray Disc release. The release will include all 22 previously released segments by the production team AC-bu, plus two new segments, a "high speed kamishibai (paper theater) collection" of the "Hellshake Yano" segment, and original stickers. The Blu-ray release will debut during the "Pop Team Epic Fes" event, which takes place at the Makuhari Messe on September 15 and 16.

The Pop Team Epic television anime premiered on January 6. HIDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, AsianCrush, and Amazon Prime Video all streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami block began airing Pop Team Epic beginning the night of June 30 at 12:00 a.m. (effectively the morning of July 1).

The anime is based on a surreal four-panel manga by Bkub Okawa that centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi.
