In episode 5, the music piece that plays whenever Hidenori's masked childhood friend appears is Pachelbel’s Canon which was composed by the German composer Johann Pachelbel.

In episode 5, at about 17:20, Hidenori says that the person he admires the most is probably Noguchi Hideyo. Noguchi Hideyo is a Japanese bacteriologist who discovered that the Syphilis causing bacterium, Treponema pallidum, was also responsible for progressive paralytic disease.

In episode 5, at about 21:41, Yanagin mentions that the girls band should travel to London and play there for a week. This is a clear reference to K-ON! the movie.

In episode 9, when Hidenori is kicked by Emi, he yells "Tiro Finale". This is a joke about Emi's seiyuu (Mizuhashi Kaori) who is also Tomoe Mami's seiyuu, from "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica". "Tiro Finale" is Tomoe Mami's final and most powerful attack.
