Natsume Yūjin-Chō 4's Songs Sung by Hiiragi, Marina Kawano

Natsume's Book of Friends' 4th season to premiere on January 2

The official website for the Natsume's Book of Friends (Natsume Yūjin-Chō) anime franchise announced on Thursday that Hiiragi and Marina Kawano will perform the theme songs for the fourth season, Natsume Yūjin-Chō Shi. The website also announced that the fourth season will premiere on TV Tokyo on January 2 at 1:30 a.m. and posted the key visual art above.

The two-member folk band Hiiragi will sing the opening theme song "Ima, Kono Toki." Kawano will sing the ending theme "Takaramono"; she previously performed the opening theme song "Morning Arch" for the A-Channel anime.

The Natsume's Book of Friends anime and Yuki Midorikawa's original manga revolve around Natsume, a boy who has been able to see ghosts since he was little. Unfortunately, humans shun him, and there is not much fondness between him and ghosts either. One day, he inherits a Yūjin-Chō ("Book of Friends") from his grandmother. The book is actually full of contracts that his grandmother made to trap ghosts. As one ghost after another shows up, Natsume tries to release or help them — even while many of them seek vengeance on him.

Crunchyroll has streamed all three previous television anime seasons outside Japan. Viz Media will publish the 10th volume of the manga in North America next month.
