Singer Angela Aki Gives Birth to Her First Son

Singer-songwriter Angela Aki (Final Fantasy XII, Blood+) announced via her Facebook account on Monday that she gave birth to her first son. Aki commented that "'Motherhood' has opened up a new chapter in my life, and my heart is dancing." She also confirmed that she going on a tour in Japan later this year. She said that she looks forward to seeing her fans after she regains her strength.
Aki had originally announced her pregnancy via her blog on September 15, her 34th birthday. She then went and performed a live concert at Tokyo's Nippon Budōkan arena on December 26. Finally, she performed in NHK's Kōhaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Battle), the New Year's Eve singing contest that is Japan's most viewed music television program.
