Japan Foundation Launches Japanese in Anime and Manga E-Learning Website

Workshops based on the new site in London and Edinburgh in October.

The Japan Foundation in London has announced the launch of a new e-learning website called Japanese in Anime and Manga. According to The Japan Foundation, "The site features language actually used by characters in anime and manga works popular overseas, enabling users to learn styles of Japanese not found in the usual textbooks and dictionaries. Users can also learn through quizzes and games, choosing their own preferred study contents and method, according to their own level and interests."

There will be workshops in London and Edinburgh introducing the site in October:

University of Edinburgh - Thursday October 4, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., includes English explanations. Free event. Prior booking is essential here.

Japan Foundation, London - Friday, October 5, 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. This workshop is in Japanese. Price £3 on the day, cash only. Prior registration here.

The above workshops are for students of Japanese. For teachers of Japanese, there are two different workshops, in Edinburgh on October 4 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, and in London on October 6, also at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Full details and prior booking are here.
