Sukima Switch to Perform at Honolulu Rainbow Ekiden

posted on by Chris Nishijima
Japanese band Sukima Switch plays at a Honolulu based long distance relay race.

March 8 will mark the third annual Honolulu Rainbow Ekiden, a relay race put on by JTB International. To help kick off the exciting event, Japanese musical duo Sukima Switch will be performing some of their greatest hits at the event's main stage area at the foot of Diamond Head. The musical group has provided theme songs for several anime, including Silver Spoon, Space Brothers, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and more.

The race will begin in Honolulu's Kapiolani Park, go down to the Waikiki Aquarium, and then circle around Diamond Head Road Look Out before returning back to Kapiolani Park. The entire race will cover a stretch of about 5 kilometers.

Sukima Switch will be providing the race with its official song, "Anuenue" from their album released in May of 2009. While registration for the race itself has already passed, the event is open to the public. In addition to Sukima Switch's special concert, the race will feature several other musical guests, cheerleading squads, and numerous food stands.
