Haikyu's Tobio Gets Punny Transformation into Flying Fish

Karasuno High School's top volleyball setter Tobio Kageyama is getting some weird merchandise thanks to a rather clever pun. Starting in July, Tobio will be reimagined as a "tobiuo" or a "flying fish." Judging by the character's expression, he isn't too pleased about the transformation.

The planned goods include clear files, cell phone straps, cushions, and button pins. Prices range from 378 yen (about US$3) to 2,160 yen (US$17.50) and can be purchased via Animate stores and on the shop's website.

The first Haikyu!! compilation film, Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Owari to Hajimari, opens in Japan on July 3. The anime's second television season is slated for this fall.
