Things Get Weird in Live-Action Space Dandy Commercials

Studio Bones' sci-fi comedy Space Dandy is no stranger to weirdness. The show's episode plots include everyone turning into zombies, a musical high school, and a monster covered in breasts. Perhaps in keeping in the spirit of the show, the advertisements for its upcoming Blu-ray box release are just as odd.
The commercials opt out of recycling anime footage and instead cast Dandy, Meow, and QT with a live-action cast. Well, mostly live-action. Meow and QT are puppets. First, the trio enjoy a picnic.
Then, all seems lost while heading through a wormhole. Except it's just a car wash.

The Space Dandy anime series is re-airing on BS Fuji and Tokyo MX stations this month and online via Niconico Douga. The Blu-ray box set will go on sale in Japan for 18,000 yen (US$150) on January 29.
