Most fans of the Yuri!!! on Ice anime agree that the show was "born to make history." The first home video volume shipped on December 30 and sold a combined 50,878 copies. The Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases ranked #2 and #3 on their respective Oricon sales charts. The anime's soundtrack CD also debuted #1 on Oricon's weekly digital album chart for the week of December 19-25. Now the series' title song is adding another achievement to the list.

The Piano Solo Chū Jōkyū Figure Skate Meikyoku-shū ~Hyōjō ni Hibiku Melody~ 2016-2017 (Piano Solo Middle-Advanced Level Figure Skating Famous Music Compilation: Melodies Resounding on Ice 2016-2017) book features the anime's title insert song "Yuri!!! on Ice." The song is the 25th and final song in the book of piano music. The book compiles music that real-world figure skaters such as Olympians Mao Asada and Yuzuru Hanyu used in recent skating programs. No other anime songs feature on the CD.

In the anime, Yūri uses the song for his free skate program. He has an acquaintance rewrite the music after her initial version isn't quite up to par. The song becomes Yūri's anthem, an expression of his soul on the ice.

Ready to dust off your skills and reminisce about those elementary-school piano lessons? The book costs 1,944 yen (about US$17), and it will ship on January 21.

Yuri!!! on Ice has already had plenty of interactions with the real world. Figure skaters are fans of the show, and Evgenia Medvedeva received an apparent homage to the anime as a present after one of her performances. The series even cast Swiss figure skater Stéphane Lambiel as himself. Will this year's Grand Prix Final skating programs feature some familiar anime music?
