New Brand Seeks 'Respect for Geeks' With Code Geass Apparel

A new anime-inspired merchandise brand is releasing a variety of Code Geass fashion items in honor of Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Handō (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Rebellion Path), the second film in the compilation film trilogy for the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 anime series. Bandai and Japanese apparel company Baroque Japan Limited established R4G (Respect for Geeks) as a new brand together, and the Code Geass merchandise is its debut line.

The line will include a a hat, clear file, pouch, and a variety of tops, jeans, and hoodies. The approximate prices are 4,800 yen (about US$45) for a top, 7,800 yen (about US$74) for a hoodie, and 20,000 yen (about US$189) for jeans. Nogizaka46 idol group member Sayuri Matsumura models the line in the image above.

Baroque Japan Limited's Shel'tter Web Store online shop will begin accepting pre-orders on March 13, followed by the Bandai Fashion Collection website on March 15. In addition, the spring and summer 2018 Tokyo Girls Collection event will display the merchandise at Yokohama Arena on March 31. A Shel'tter Tokyo Pop Up Store in Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku will also begin offering the items on April 6.

The brand is also selling some ita handbags.

Sanrio began a collaboration with Code Geass in February. The campaign's merchandise includes T-shirts, hair scrunchies, tin badges, and stand mirrors.

The most recent Code Geass film opened in Japan on February 10 in 79 theaters. The film trilogy recap all 50 episodes of both Code Geass series. The cast are re-recording all their lines for the films, and the films include new scenes.
