Autobots Roll Out to Help USS Enterprise Crew in Comic Cross-Over
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Comic book publisher IDW is sending the Transformers on a mission unlike any seen before. The publisher exclusively revealed to website io9 that a four-issue Star Trek vs. Transformers comic cross-over series is launching in September.
The series takes place within the Star Trek universe, specifically the USS Enterprises' original crew. Captain Kirk, Spock, and Uhura come face to face with Optimus Prime while investigating a distress call at the edge of Klingon Space. The Autobots leader decides to lend a hand but the crew discover Optimus isn't the only robot in disguise.
The mini-series brings together writers John Barber and Mike Johnson, artist Philip Murphy, and colorist Leonardo Ito. The team is taking cues from the classic Star Trek: The Animated Series and original Transformers cartoon.
IDW's Star Trek comic series has previously visited the worlds of Doctor Who, The Green Lantern, and The Planet of the Apes.
