Sekiro: No Defeat's Anime Studio Denies Using Generative AI

The production commitee for the Sekiro: No Defeat anime series and its production studio Qzil.la issued a statement about generative AI on August 22. The statement said that the series is entirely hand-drawn "to best convey the unique appeal of the original game.” It further stated that the "staff members are united in their commitment to this production, pouring their heart and soul into every cut.”

We would like to inform you about the production methods for Sekiro: No Defeat, whose anime adaptation was announced on August 20, 2025.
To best convey the unique appeal of the original game, we are producing it entirely with hand-drawn 2D animation, with no use of generative AI whatsoever.
All staff members are united in their commitment to this production, pouring their heart and soul into every cut.

The gamescon Opening Night Live event announced the Sekiro: No Defeat anime on August 20. The series adapts FromSoftware's Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice game. Crunchyroll will exclusively stream the anime worldwide (excluding Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus) next year.
