In a press release today Anime Colony (http://anime.scifi.com) announced that Chiho Saito, Japanese Manga artist best known for Revolutionary Girl Utena will be hosting the first of a series of Anime Creator-Hosted Chat sessions which will allow fans all over the world to meet famous artists, discuss works and ask questions live.
Included in the press release was the following bit about Shiho Saito:
Chiho Saito is one of the creators behind the popular anime Revolutionary Girl Utena and the new movie The Adolescence of Utena. As the manga artist and co-creator of Utena, Saito has come to see the series become one of the most acclaimed titles by anime fans in both Japan and the U.S. since its debut in Ciao. Since then, it's popularity has resulted into it being adapted into an anime (released in the U.S. by Central Park Media), Visual Story Books, soundtracks, laserdiscs and now a movie.
Desiring to be a manga artist since childhood, Saito made her professional debut in 1982 with The Sword and Mademoiselle in Koronetsuto magazine. Her other works include Kakan no Madonna (Madonna of the Flower Crown), Kanon, The Mark of Angel, Love Stories, Silver Opera, Lovers' Square, Daughter of Basilis, and Swan Waltz.
