Oshii's dark opus to be released on DVD

Mamoru Oshii's dark (or "comedic") opus, Angel's Egg, is set to be released on DVD in Japan by Tokuma Shoten and Pioneer LDC. The 71 minute film , which features character designs by VHD / FF designs veteran, Yoshitaka Amano, is set to arrive in stores on April 25th, retailing for 5800 Yen (US$47). A new video telecine master has been created under the supervision of Oshii and will be used to produce this DVD.
Featured are: a "16:9 SQUEEZE collection", promotional material including info on the making of the new telecine, original monaural voice collection, Amano still image gallery, jacket back folds out into pinup poster and a 4 page color booklet is also added.
