Earlier this week, Lycos posted a pair of top-search lists that may be of interest..
Every year, Lycos puts out a number of interesting lists, based on the number of users who use their site.
The Lycos Top 100 of 2001 lists searches ranked, based on the total number made during the year. How did the anime-related entries fare?
#1 Dragon Ball (#2 in 2000)
#7 Pokémon (#3 in 2000)
#48 Digimon (#35 in 2000)
#72 Sailor Moon (#27 in 2000)
Gundam Wing, formerly #26 on the charts, failed to list at all.
A few days earlier, Lycos listed the Top 12 "other" Shows of 2001:
#1 Dragon Ball (#1 in 2000)
#2 Pokémon (#2 in 2000)
#3 Digimon (#5 in 2000)
#4 Sailor Moon (#4 in 2000)
#5 Gundam Wing (#5 in 2000)
#8 Outlaw Star (Unranked in 2000)
#9 Cardcaptors (Unranked in 2000)
Tenchi Muyo!, formerly #7, failed to generate enough interest this year, and left the Top shows listing.
