Update: The Japanese anime information website Moon Phase retracted its report of an Ichigeki Sacchu!! HoiHoi-san television anime as "misinformation" this past weekend.

Volume 1 (on sale September 19) of MediaWorks' new Dengeki Black Maoh manga magazine will announce that Kunihiko Tanaka's Ichigeki Sacchu!! HoiHoi-san manga about a cute, robotic bug exterminator will be animated for television. The television series premieres this January on TV Tokyo. Tanaka designed the character concepts for the Key the Metal Idol anime and Xenogears game, and created the Ruin Explorers manga.

Dengeki Black Maoh is a quarterly spinoff from Dengeki Maoh manga magazine, which in turn is a sister publication to Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine. Dengeki Daioh serialized the original Ichigeki Sacchu!! HoiHoi-san manga. The manga already had a short animated video special produced as a supplement for the first manga volume's release. Dengeki Black Maoh will launch a spinoff manga called Ichigeki Sacchū!! HoiHoi-san Legacy.

The October issue (on sale September 13) of the Comic Ran Twins historical manga magazine announced that the Sengoku Gakudō Nikki: Sensei no Chonmage (Diary of a Warring-States-Era Pupil: The Teacher's Topknot) gag manga will be animated. It will premiere on October 6 as shorts within TV Tokyo's Fight Tension School program. Comic Ran Twins and its parent magazine Comic Ran are popular among older male readers for their manga about Japan's ancient times with samurai, violent conflicts, and imperial life.
