Update featuring a defensive Combatant “Adelheid” who gains Shield through [Blessing] granted to cards, along with Partner “Clara”

Improvements to the roguelike content “Sortie” and the addition of Auto-Combat for Chaos gameplay

Santa Monica, CA - May 27, 2026 - Smilegate has announced that Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN), the dark fantasy roguelike RPG developed by Super Creative and published by Smilegate, has received an update featuring the new Galactic Disaster Season 3 story, “A Girl's Nightmare,” along with additional content.

Full details on this latest update can be found on the official blog post.

The newly updated story released today is the second chapter of Season 3, “A Song Rippling Through the Stars.” It follows an investigation into suspicious events aboard the SS Edenity, where the secrets surrounding major character “Adelheid” are revealed.

The story's protagonist, Adelheid, is also available as a new Combatant. A defense-focused Vanguard-class Combatant with the Void attribute, she grants “Blessing” to allied cards and gains Shield. Partner “Clara,” released alongside Adelheid, increases the assigned Combatant's Defense and grants Fixed Heal when a card with the Blessing effect applied by the assigned Combatant is used.

With the release of the new story, the first half of “The Great Rift” begins, along with the opening of the 2nd Supply Store, where players can obtain rewards such as “Omega Code.” The Great Rift no longer restricts usage to current season Save Data, greatly expanding Save Data options. Using Seasonal Save Data also grants additional score bonuses.

Season 2 of the Full-Scale Offensive also begins, where players form three teams to take down bosses. Strategic Combatant placement based on each boss's traits is key, with rewards including Crystals and growth currency.

Additionally, a range of system improvements have been implemented alongside the update. In the original roguelike content “Sortie,” special effects granted to Drafted Combatants have been enhanced, making strategic planning even more important. Auto-Combat has also been introduced for Chaos gameplay, along with new Core items that allow players to edit equipment within acquired Save Data.

Meanwhile, Smilegate is also holding various events to commemorate the update. Two events featuring the new Combatant Adelheid, where players can defeat monsters and earn various in-game currencies and Crystals, will run through June 17. Additionally, the “Sortie Support” event, which rewards players for playing Sortie, will be available until June 22.

Chaos Zero Nightmare is available now and free-to-play on PCiPhone and Android.
