The Japanese duo Ali Project will perform for the first time outside Japan at Sakura-Con in Seattle, Washington at the end of March. Arika Takarano and Mikiya Katakura created the anime theme songs "Ankoku Tengoku" (Kamichama Karin), "Poeny Pink" (Clamp School Detectives), "Kinjirareta Asobi" (Rozen Maiden), "Gesshoku Grand Guignol" (Avenger), "Copellia no Hitsugi" (Noir), "Yuukyou Seishunka" (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion), "National Awakening - Catharsis" (.hack//Roots), and more. Ketchup Mania, The Slants, Smile DK, and Scandal will also perform at the convention.
In a separate development, A-Kon has announced that the visual kei band Versailles will perform at the Dallas convention on May 30. Versailles was formed just this past year from prominent members of other visual kei groups: guitarist TERU (formerly of Aikaryu), bassist Jasmine You (JAKURA, Hizaki Grace Project), drummer YUKI (Sugar Trip), guitarist Hizaki (Sulfuric Acid, Hizaki Grace Project), and vocalist KAMIJO (Lareine). The group's American appearance is presented by Tainted Reality.
