Udon's Crunchyroll e-zine to include Int'l Manga Award runner-up 1520

The Canadian publisher Udon Entertainment will be launching a weekly digital comic digest on the Crunchyroll video-sharing website next month. The Udon Combo! collection will include Kai's 1520, a runner-up from Hong Kong in the Japanese government's first International Manga Award competition last year. It will also include Jim Zubkavich's The Makeshift Miracle web comic.

In a separate development, the California-based publisher Seven Seas Entertainment began serializing The Ninja Diaries comic today in Metromix Los Angeles, a weekly print and online guide to entertainment in Los Angeles. The story centers on a ninja who has become an actor in Los Angeles, and the female ninja dispatched to retrieve him. The comic is written by Nunzio Defilippis and Christina Weir (co-adapters of the Kagetora and Sugar Sugar Rune manga) and illustrated by Elmer Damaso (Speed Racer comic adaptation, 10 Beautiful Assassins).
