Shin-chan film that inspired live-action film re-airs during creator's disappearance
The 2002 film Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi wo Yobu Appare! Sengoku Daikassen re-aired on Saturday, September 19 on 1:59 p.m. and earned a 6.3 rating. It was the #6 film of the week. The special afternoon showing ran two weeks after the September 5 opening of Takashi Yamazaki's live-action Ballad: Namonaki Koi no Uta period drama film. Tsuyoshi Kusanagi of the SMAP entertainment group stars in this live-action historical romance based loosely on the plot of the award-winning Crayon Shin-chan film. Authorities determined on Sunday, September 20 that the body discovered at Arafune mountain the day before was that of Crayon Shin-chan creator Yoshito Usui. Usui had been missing since September 11.
