Yona Yona, Overrun, Tono to Issho, Rin Videos Streamed

The YouTube website is streaming the five-minute "Yona Yona Penguin Kōkai Kinen Amigo Special" program on Rintaro's Yona Yona Penguin 3D computer-animated film. In this adventure story, a little girl named Koko gets sucked into a fantasy world populated by goblins who believe that their saviour will be a penguin. This joint project between Thailand's Imagimax, Japan's Dynamo Pictures, and France's Def2Shoot is opening in Japan on Wednesday. The film already screened at Spain's Sitges festival.

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Tomohiro Matsu and Peco's Mayoi Neko Overrun! (Stray Cats Overrun!) romantic comedy light novels has posted a 100-second promotional video. The story revolves around Takumi Tsuzuki, a boy who lives with his older "sister" Otome, although the two have no blood ties between them. Otome manages a run-down confectionary store called Stray Cats. One day, Otome picks up a mysterious beautiful girl off the streets. The series will premiere in Japan in April.

The anime adaptation of Ohba-Kai's Tono to Issho 4-panel gag manga will ship as an original video anime on DVD on March 25, and the official website is streaming a new promotional video via YouTube. The manga follows the humorous exploits of generals during Japan's tumultuous sengoku (Era of the Warring States) period. The DVD will include a bonus anime called "Gackt mo Issho," since the singer and actor Gackt is playing a character in the anime.

The North American anime distributor Funimation has posted a new video clip on the official website for the RIN ~Daughters of Mnemosyne~ anime. (You must be 18 to access the website.) Director Shigeru Ueda (Elemental Gelade, Tales of Symphonia), screenwriter Hiroshi Ohnogi (Noein, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Aquarion), and the animators at Xebec (Martian Successor Nadesico, Fafner, Heroic Age) created this graphic, "hard-boiled science-fiction action" series. The story follows a seemingly ordinary office lady named Rin who is secretly a private investigator — and nearly indestructible due to supernatural powers. The complete series will ship on DVD on January 19.
