The Japanese publisher Enterbrain has announced on Saturday that its PlayStation 2 romance simulation game Amagami is being adapted into the Amagami SS television anime for Japan's TBS station this summer.

The original game centers around a second-year high school boy who find himself uneasy during Christmastime due to an experience in the past. However, this year at Christmas, he gets his last chance to ask out a graduating female senior named Haruka Morishima — or one of several other classmates. The story of the anime will be arranged in an omnibus format, with each heroine getting her own version of the story animated. Each heroine will sing her own version of the ending theme song.

AIC (Nyan-Koi!, Sora no Otoshimono) is producing the animation in Amagami SS with Yoshimasa Hiraike (Sketchbook ~full color'S~, Working!!) directing as well as supervising the scripts. Noboru Kimura and Touko Machida are writing the scripts, while Hiroaki Gohda (Please Teacher!) is designing the characters. The original game's character designer Kisai Takayama (Kimikiss pure rouge) and producer Toshihiro Sakamoto are working as supervisors and collaborators on the anime's story composition. Toshiyuki Omori is composing the music.

The cast is unchanged from the original game:
Junichi Tachibana: Tomoaki Maeno
Tsukasa Ayatsuji: Kaori Nazuka
Rihoko Sakurai: Ryoko Shintani
Kaoru Tanamachi: Rina Satou
Sae Nakata: Hiromi Konno
Ai Nanasaki: Yukana
Haruka Morishima: Shizuka Itou
Miya Tachibana: Kana Asumi
Masayoshi Umehara: Takuma Terashima

Enterbrain released the original game on March 19, 2009. Since then, Enterbrain published three omnibus manga anthologies called Amagami -Various Artists- as well as five drama CDs. Tarō Shinonome (KimiKiss) has been drawing a manga adaptation called Amagami precious diary that ran in Hakusensha's Young Animal and Young Animal Zōkan Island magazines since last November. Kotetsu Sakura drew another manga called Amagami Sincerely yours in Famitsu Comic Clear, while Ryūya Kamino began a third manga called Amagami Love goes on! in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine this year.

The Famitsu website is streaming a one-minute teaser video.
