Ghost In The Shell: Reemsborko Signs on as Worldwide Agent (Outside Asia)

Ghost in the Shell is a seminal cyberpunk media franchise created by Masamune Shirow in 1989, set in the mid-21st-century and centered on cyborg federal agent Motoko Kusanagi as she navigates philosophical questions of identity, consciousness, and humanity in a highly digitized future. The franchise has since transcended media boundaries, expanding into mediums like anime, a live-action Hollywood film and video games.
The manga ran until 1991 and inspired multiple anime adaptations including the 1995 film of the same name (which is currently not being widely licensed), the 2002 television series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Ghost in the Shell Arise
Now it is back, with a brand-new animated TV series version of the iconic sci-fi series. Motoko Kusanagi, also known as Major, returns again battling more cybercrime. Made by the acclaimed animation studio Science SARU (INU-OH, The Colors Within, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, DAN DA DAN), the fresh animé arrives in Japan as a TV series launching in July 2026 as a Prime Video exclusive with other territories to follow.
