2010 Lulu Award Nominations Is Now Open to the Public

The organization Friends of Lulu has announced that nominations for the 2010 Lulu Awards are now open to the public. Each year, the Lulu Awards recognize comic and cartooning work produced by and about women within the past year.
The categories fans can nominate artists for are:
• Kim Yale Award for Best New Talent
• Lulu Of The Year
• Woman of Distinction
• Leah Adezio Award For Best Kid-Friendly Work
• Female Comic Creator's Hall of Fame
• Best Female Character
The 2010 Lulu Awards will be held on October 29 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The eligible nominees must have been published within 2009.
Last year, the prolific manga quartet CLAMP and Fruits Basket creator Natsuki Takaya were nominated for the awards by a panel of seven judges. Australian artist Madeleine Rosca also earned a nomination in the Kim Yale Award for Best New Talent category for her Hollow Fields work, which Seven Seas Entertainment publishes in North America.
