AX Parent Reveals Board of Directors Election Results

SPJA's Board adds five new members, re-elects four

The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), the non-profit parent organization of the Anime Expo convention, announced the results of its 2010 Board of Directors General Election last month. Four members were re-elected to the board: Marc Perez, Paul Wilson, Bryant Quan, and Hank Wong.

Five new members were elected to their first years on the board: event interpreter Takayuki Karahashi, Cecilia Amo, Chris Hemaratanatorn, Marisa Price, and Kris Zoleta.

Last year, the SPJA sought a new CEO, resulting in the naming of Michael Lattanzio to the position. In January, the board came into dispute with Anime Expo staffers, resulting in several resignations from the Anime Expo Convention Committee. Lattanzio stepped down as CEO last month, leaving Perez as interim CEO.

Update: Chris Hemaratanatorn added to list of new directors. Thanks, teh*darkness.
