Heartcatch Precure! Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show…Desu ka!?, the ninth film from the Pretty Cure/Precure magical girl franchise, dropped from #4 to #5 in its fifth weekend on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box chart. On Box Office Mojo's chart, it stayed at #5 and added US$544,593 on 162 screens to its total of US$10,238,379.
The 3D film version of Eiko Kera's ATASHIn'CHI comedy manga stayed at #10 in its third weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, it stayed at #14 and earned US$130,641 on 89 screens for a total-to-date of US$813,007.
Umizaru: The Last Message, the third live-action film based on Shuho Sato's manga about the Japanese Coast Guard, dropped from #8 off Kogyo Tsushinsha's box chart. On Box Office Mojo's chart, it stayed at #8 and earned the equivalent of US$302,294 on 308 screens in its 11th weekend. It now has a total of US$98,456,250.
In its second weekend, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I remained the #1 film in Japan.
