posted on 2011-07-21 09:51 EDT
Otakon has confirmed that its screening of Makoto Shinkai's Children who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below (Hoshi o Ou Kodomo) will feature English subtitles. (Previously, it had been announced that the screening would be in Japanese without subtitles.) Shinkai will appear at a Q&A session after the screening.
The film centers on Asuna, a girl who spends her solitary days listening to the mysterious music emanating from the crystal radio she received from her father as a memento. However, she embarks on a journey of adventure to find a mysterious boy she just met, and thus comes to know the cruelty and beauty of the world, as well as loss.
Otakon 2011 will be held July 29 – 31 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
