Yen Press to Adapt Gaia Interactive's Monster Galaxy Game

Live-action monster-battling movie adaptation also in the works.

North American manga publisher Yen Press announced plans to adapt social-gaming website Gaia Online's Monster Galaxy game franchise into a series of graphic novels in a press release Friday. Yen Press plans to bring well-known characters from the game along with new monsters and worlds to readers of the manga. The monster capturing game boasts over 25 million players on Facebook and its application for Android and iOS mobile devices.

Players take the role of a trainer who is able to capture and battle monsters known as Mogas.

Yen Press will announce further details at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego.

Gaia Online also announced a partnership with production company Radar Pictures (The Box, The Invention of Lying ) to develop live-action adaptation of Monster Galaxy. Further details will be announced in 2012.
