Kodansha USA Reveals iPhone App

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Kodansha USA Publishing, the American arm of the Japanese publisher Kodansha, announced at its Otakon panel on Sunday that it will release a manga reading app for the iPhone. The app will launch on Monday, and to celebrate its launch, all first volumes of series sold through it will be priced at US$2.99.

The titles currently available on the app are: Arisa, Cage of Eden, Fairy Tail, Mardock Scramble, Until the Full Moon, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, and Ninja Girls. Kodansha added that it is still looking into creating an app for Android devices.

The company previously launched an app for the iPad device last October. Random House developed the free iPad app, which originally launched with 34 volumes from four series. Kodansha USA had detailed at the time that most volumes would cost US$4.99.
